Third space is a volunteer run community organization that I started with a small group of people I know from my political activism. The community space is non-political and provides both a social space as well as mutual aid, lending library, meeting space, and public computer access.
For this space I maintain a set of lapttop 'road-warrior' workstations, a set of desktops configured for guest access, and a firewall to block illicit traffic.
The workstations are running Ubuntu linux and have custom scripts set to run that wipe the guest user and user folders on logout. While not perfect, this allows for kiosk-like access with more functionality. I maintain and patch/configure these remotely with Ansible.
